Helping our team excel is at the heart of everything we do. We take pride in seeing our new Estate Agents progress through their training – from classroom-based courses to on-the-job coaching in branch.

From Foundation to Management – and every specialism in between – our training is nimble and pro-active, giving our Estate Agents the confidence they need to face the ever-changing market.

You’ll be trained by highly-skilled Estate Agents who use their expertise and passion to help our staff deliver the Premium Service that our customers have grown to expect from Wards.

Your guide to the Academy

Week 1

Core Skills Training

Joining as a trainee, you’ll be invited along to our Training Centre to take part in a 5-day Foundation Course – designed to give you a greater understanding of your role as an Estate Agent.

Our expert trainers will help you to develop the skills you need to be successful, through a mix of classroom and practical training. Further on in the week, you’ll even have the chance to try out what you’ve learnt on real customers, showcasing your skills to discover just how far you’ve come.

During the week, our energised and practical session will cover:
  • What makes a successful Estate Agent?
  • Identifying sales opportunities.
  • Selling and closing skills.
  • The role of an Estate Agent in helping people buy their dream home.
  • Our values (The Arun Way).
  • Company standards and expectations.
  • Industry compliance.

You will then be ready to start work in your assigned office – but don’t worry.

Support will continue to be provided from your colleagues and Manager. You will also receive regular visits from our experienced Field Trainers, who are only ever a phone call away if you need them.

Week 5

Foundation Training Part 2

After your first month in the office, putting into practice the skills learnt in training, you’ll be invited back to our training centre for a further 3-day course. Designed to improve your knowledge, this top-up course will allow you to build on your skills, ultimately helping you to deliver a better service for our customers.

Week 12

Feedback sessions

As part of your Academy experience, during your initial 12 weeks you will also be invited to attend coaching and feedback sessions with your Operational Director. These sessions will provide a platform for you to share progress and broaden your skills and knowledge.

Support from your field trainers also continues outside of your branch. Your Operational Director will meet with you individually, during month three and six, to discuss your progress and your aspirations.

Your success is important to us which is why your Operational Director will continue to track your progress, setting you promotional targets and ultimately determining when you’re ready for the next stage of your development and training with the company.

Since we always prefer to promote from within, our aim is to ensure you are ready for the next exciting challenge ahead.
